1) how are you planning to divide up the footage live performance, narrative or both?For our music video we are planning to have it entirely narrative,this is because the song we have chosen is strongly about the lyrics and so it would work a lot better if we have a good narrative.Also since lip singing is difficult to get correct and match up well so the final product would look better without it.
2) what are the pros and cons of both?
Narrative
+ The story has a deeper meaning to it and also makes it easier to convey the story of the song.
+ It can be more interesting to watch
+ Draws more attention to the song than the performer themselves
- Doesn't focus on the band much
- If the song doesn't have a big meaning then it will be hard to create
- Can cost more to produce
Live Performance
+ You can showcase the band more
+ It is cheaper to produce
+ Theres less chance of people not understanding your message
- It can be boring to watch
- It draws attention away from the song itself
- If the band don't play correctly or its lined up wrong the song won't look right with the video
