Main male protagonist:

Height/build: Fairly tall, average build
Clothing/Style: He will wear vintage clothing including a shirt, black trousers and brown boots.
Role
Character Function: The male protagonists function is to serve as the main character who is dumped by his girlfriend and then turns to a life of drugs. He stumbles through different worlds before eventually being killed. He is the main message behind the video; do not take drugs.
Character Objectives:
Characters Personality: As an audience we don't really know the characters true personality for the majority of the time he is immersed within a drug like state. However, we do know that he is a depressive and this is the main reason as to why he has turned to drugs.
GIRL HE CHASES:
Full Name: UNKNOWN
Gender: Female
Age: 20+
Ethnicity: White
Appearance
Eye colour: Blue
Hair colour: Blonde
Height/build: Small
Clothing/Style: She will be wearing a red dress and no shoes.
Role
Character Function: Although this character will have less screen time than the male protagonist she will serve as his objective (he tries to chase her through the different worlds). She will also eventually turn from an enigmatic character to his antagonist as she will disappear and be the wake up call to a reality that will kill him.
Character Representations: This character will be wearing red which is typically a symbol of love but also danger. This dress will represent both: Love in the sense that he seeks a vague love or someone to love him back. The fact he can never reach her proves that he is unlovable and will always be alone. Danger because she is the catalyst to his downfall and will lead him to death in the final sequence.
Characters Personality: As an audience we will never find out this characters personality, she is meant to be enigmatic, a mystery to viewers as well as the main male character. She is also not a real character meaning her personality is irrelevant to the plot line.
Extras:
Throughout the rest of the music video other extras will be filmed to give more substance to the narrative and make it a little more believable.
2. What will these characters bring to your construction?
I think the fact that we are using just two main characters will mean the audience will engage with the storyline more than if we used more characters. I believe if we introduce too many profiles into the music video the narrative may become confusing and take away from the music itself.
3. How will audiences engage with these characters?
I believe the main protagonist will be the most engaging to the audience. I think mainly because we feel sympathy towards the character as he turns to drugs as an only escape. This is only heightened by the fact he is rejected at the beginning as well as being hit by a car later on.
